Dental chews that actually work according to my vet

Asked my vet which dental chews are legit and which are scams. Heres what she said:

Actually effective: Greenies (VOHC approved), OraVet chews, C.E.T. enzymatic chews, Whimzees
Not really effective: Milk bones "dental" treats, most rawhide, those spiral chew things
Can be dangerous: antlers, real bones, nylabones (for aggressive chewers)

The key thing she said was look for the VOHC seal. If it has that seal its been independently verified to actually reduce plaque/tartar. Everything else is basically just a treat marketed as dental care.

Still need annual dental cleanings though. Chews help but theyre not a replacement for professional cleaning.
