Dog suddenly afraid of hardwood floors??

My 2 year old lab walked on hardwood floors his entire life with no issues. Yesterday he wiped out chasing a ball and now he refuses to walk on ANY hard surface. Hes literally army crawling to get to the carpet.

Has anyone dealt with this? How long did it take to get them comfortable again? Feeling bad for him he looks so stressed.
