Dog AllergiesPosted by mixedBreedMomKatie

My dog won't stop scratching her face and rubbing it on everything - allergies?

My 3-year-old mixed breed Rosie has been doing this thing for the past week where she scratches her face constantly and rubs her muzzle along the couch, carpet, basically any surface she can find. Her eyes look a little puffy to me but not like super swollen or anything. She's otherwise acting normal - eating, playing, pooping fine.

I switched her food about three weeks ago - went from a chicken-based kibble to a salmon formula because I heard it was better for skin. Could that be causing this? Or is it more likely environmental? We also just started keeping the windows open more since the weather got nicer.

I have a vet appointment scheduled for next Tuesday but I'm kind of spiraling in the meantime. Has anyone dealt with this? Is there anything I can do to help her feel more comfortable until we get in?
