First week with puppy - the night crying is nonstop and i am losing my mind, is this normal?
I picked up my 10-week-old corgi mix Biscuit four days ago and i genuinely had no idea what i was walking into. The daytime is manageable - he plays, he eats, he crashes. The nights are another universe entirely. He cries basically the whole night unless i'm right next to the crate with my hand inside it, and even then it's inconsistent. I've gotten maybe 10 hours of sleep total across four nights.
I've read like 40 different articles and they all say different things. Some say let him cry it out, some say never let them cry it out, some say use a ticking clock, some say don't. I tried the ticking clock last night and he just cried louder at it specifically. I'm going to work tomorrow on basically no sleep and I'm starting to spiral a little bit wondering if i somehow got a dog with trauma or if i'm just fundamentally bad at this.
Tell me this is normal? And what actually worked for you? I'm desperate enough to try anything at this point.
