My neighbor called animal control on me for "neglect" because my dog barks

Let me set the scene: my dog barks in the backyard sometimes when squirrels show up. Were talking maybe 10 minutes a day total. Hes inside the rest of the time.

Got a visit from animal control yesterday. Neighbor filed a complaint saying my dog is "neglected and barking for hours." Animal control guy came in, saw my well fed, healthy, happy dog sleeping on his orthopedic bed, and basically rolled his eyes.

No violation obviously but now I have this on record and im furious. My neighbor didnt even try talking to me first. Just went straight to animal control.

How would you handle this? Trying not to be petty but failing.
