My reactive dog just passed another dog calmly for the first time

I literally cried on the sidewalk today. My german shepherd mix has been severely leash reactive for 2 years. Lunging, barking, the whole thing. Every walk was stressful.

Weve been doing counter conditioning for 6 months. Today we passed a golden retriever about 10 feet away and she looked at it, looked back at me, and kept walking. No reaction. I gave her the entire bag of treats.

If you're in the trenches with a reactive dog - dont give up. Its slow and frustrating but progress is possible. I never thought we'd get here.
