Has anyone switched a 5 year old beagle to raw and actually seen results? Vet is skeptical but i want to hear from people who've done it

My beagle Clementine has been on the same kibble brand since we got her at 8 weeks and she's done fine, but lately i've been deep in a rabbit hole about raw diets and i can't stop thinking about it. She has some seasonal allergy stuff going on - a lot of paw licking this time of year - and her coat has never been as shiny as other beagles i see. Nothing dramatic, she's healthy, but i feel like she could be doing better.

Her vet is pretty firmly against raw. Mainly the bacteria risk and concerns about nutritional balance, which i get. But i also know that's a pretty standard vet position even for dogs who have been thriving on raw for years. I'm not totally sold either way - i just want to hear from actual people who did the switch rather than only reading old forum posts.

Did you see real changes? How long before anything was noticeable? And is the prep and cost actually worth it? We don't have kids so handling raw meat isn't a dealbreaker, i just want honest takes before i commit to figuring out the whole freezer logistics situation.
