Week one with our border collie puppy and I am not sleeping

We brought home Ziggy on Saturday and I love him so much but honestly I did not fully prepare for the night crying. He sleeps in a crate next to our bed and he's doing okay during the day but at night he wakes up every hour and a half whining. I get up, take him out, he pees, goes back in, cries again.

I knew it would be hard but somehow still shocked by how hard it actually is lol. He's 9 weeks old. Is this normal? When did your puppies start sleeping longer stretches? I would love to hear some success stories right now.
